New Music: Destroyer – Kaputt

When it comes to Dan Bejar and his band Destroyer, I completely missed that boat. Literally. Dan Bejar announced several months ago that Destroyer would be hosting a cruise to Alaska and all you had to do was show up at 6am to the downtown Seattle pier and Destroyer would be waiting for you. Well, to keep the story short I arrived to the dock late and watched as the boat had already begun its long journey to the high sea without me. As I dried my Destroyer/Dan Bejar tears and turned around to head back my car I couldn’t help but hear the faint sounds of eighties inspired bouncing basslines and slow, sexy sax coming from the now distant missed connection. It was the song ‘Kaputt’ from Destroyer’s latest record of the same name. That song is so great!

Check the video below. The first 1.18 is what got me hooked on Destroyer. I love the visuals, I love the music and I love the lyrics.
