New Music Video: Kanye West, All of the Lights

The latest collaboration between revered music video director Hype Williams and the sometimes enigmatic but always entertaining Kanye West brings us a new music video for ‘All of the Lights’ from West’s masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. This video is great. Not only do you have the lyrics represented as animated neon bright flashing lights throughout most of the video (and a pre-video warning about how watching if you are epileptic could trigger a seizure) but you also have some homage to Michael Jackson thrown in and Rhianna, who voices the song’s hook, is looking as fly as can be. I’ve never really batted and eye towards Rhianna before this moment but there’s just something about her role in this video, I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but Rhianna is a real stand out. Maybe it’s her hair color or something…
