If you want to shake your ass on the dance floor this weekend you need to get to Nectar in Fremont this Saturday night. Seattle’s own Decibel Festival is hosting an awesome dance party featuring Nordic Soul, The New Law and Signal Path. Here’s a little bit about Decibel Festival taken from their site…
Decibel Festival is a non-profit, four-day annual music and arts festival held in Seattle, WA. Founded in 2003, the festival bridges the gap between technology and creativity through visual art, workshops, panel discussions and cutting-edge electronic music performances. By assembling a diverse selection of international talent, Decibel Festival provides a forum for musicians, industry professionals and educators alike…Since its inception, Decibel has hosted over 400 acts ranging from underground dance and experimental electronic music to transmedial art.
Heck yes! I was able to check out Decibel Fest last year and it is the best place to experience new electronic acts that you may have never heard of before. Nordic Soul comes from Detroit and has been killing it on the dance floor since the mid nineties with ‘…his emotionally charged sets which are infused with live instrumentation and ripe with the melange of organic and synthesized tones, all riding on top of heavy bass lines…‘ . Yes! Be sure to check out his myspace to download some of his mixes for free.

The New Law are a couple of Seattle based producers as well and are bound to rock the house with their ‘…synthetic hip hop beats combined with evolving soundscapes, dreamlike sax, dusty samples, soaring synths, and pulsing drum machines…’ . Count me in! They have two records out now that you should look into as well. Their latest effort is below…
New to me but not new to the game of making great music, Signal Path are going to blow the roof off the club this Saturday night! Here’s what their website has to say about them…‘Signal Path is creating some of the most progressive music in their history. Originally a duo, Signal Path comes full circle with Ryan Burnett producing and playing guitar and Damon Metzner on the acoustic drums. This configuration allows the sound to become focused, spontaneous, and rich.’ I’m gonna dance my ass off! Make sure to go Signal Path’s website to download their new album Clash, for free!
