Chewing on Cain: 97.3 KIRO FM “Talkshots” take on today’s top story

The sexual harassment accusations against Herman Cain and his ever-changing accounting of what really happened continues sparking a big firestorm.
97.3 KIRO FM’s John Curley says the guy is being convicted before we can even get all the facts and how the culture of crucifying our political figures in the new media world is making it impossible for any good people to actually run or get elected to office.

But on Ross and Burbank, Dave and Luke are amazed by how poorly Cain and his campaign are handling the accusations, from his claims he “couldn’t remember,” to the differences between a settlement and an agreement.
“It sort of raised a flag for me,” says Dave.
“If there’s two women who are saying something weird went on, I can’t imagine Herman Cain is conducting himself perfectly,” Luke observes.
Cain’s camp was alerted 10 days ago that Politico was working on the story, and Seattle’s Morning News co-host Tom Tangney says he is astounded the campaign didn’t prepare a response.
“Cain would be smart to get ahead of this story instead of always trying to catch up to it, which is what he’s been doing for the last 24 hours.”
“He seems vague on so many details,” observes co-host Bill Radke. “Except he’s able to conjure up one very specific story that’s going to come off seeming innocuous,” Radke says about Cain’s recounting of one of the incidents 12 years ago when he was president of the National Restaurant Association.
Tangney and Ross agree regardless of the accusations, the Cain campaign’s inability to handle them better don’t bode well for his presidential aspirations.
“They were put on notice 10 days ago. They should have built up a case,” Tangey says.
