Forbes magazine, which releases lists of the richest Americans, most powerful women, and the most expensive zip codes, now has the richest Fictional characters list.

From cartoons to literary characters to the heroes of comics and the silver screen, Forbes has ranked the 15 richest fictional characters.

Topping the list, well, you’d be wrong if you said The Simpson’s Mr. Burns (he’s on the list at number 12.) With the price of gold increasing, it makes sense that the duck who swims in his gold coin reserve, Scrooge McDuck, would top this years’ list.

Other members of the top 15 include Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, Chuck Bass from the television show “Gossip Girl,” and Smaug the dragon from The Hobbit.

Wondering why there aren’t more women on the Forbes’ Fictional 15 list? Well, the Forbes folks wrote up a fictional article about that very reason – Why so few women on the Forbes Fictional 15?, as well as other fictional articles about what characters dropped off the 2011 list. They also have biographies for all of the fictional characters – and how they made their riches.

See the full list here.
