Claudia Balducci v. Girmay Zahilay: 2025 King County Executive debate live on MyNorthwest

The two candidates for King County Executive are participating in a debate Friday night, airing live on KIRO Newsradio and MyNorthwest.
The debate between candidates Claudia Balducci and Girmay Zahilay, both members of the King County Council, will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday. It will be hosted by Seattle CityClub.
The discussion will be moderated by KIRO Newsradio fill-in host Angela Poe Russell and John Hopperstad, the co-anchor of “Good Day Seattle” for FOX 13.
“The King County Executive is one of the most powerful and influential political roles in Washington state, with decisions that directly impact the lives of more than two million residents,” KIRO Newsradio Director Frank Lenzi stated. “We’re at a pivotal moment in political history — not just here in King County, but across the U.S. — and this debate is a vital opportunity for our community to hear where the candidates stand on the issues that matter most.”
A mayoral debate between Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and candidate Katie Wilson, also aired live on KIRO Newsradio and MyNorthwest, took place on Oct. 2.
