RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The Republican Party of Virginia said a shooting Thursday just outside its offices in Richmond doesn’t appear to have anything to do with its operations.

The party said in a statement posted online that a woman was shot around 1:45 p.m. directly in front of the building that houses its offices. The statement said first responders were on the scene within minutes.

The status of the woman is unclear. Police have not responded to phone messages, texts or emails.
