Rain arrives late tomorrow, showers and windy weather heading our way Friday

Cloudy skies and cool temperatures will continue for the next several days across western Washington.
The weather pattern set up for our area will move an area of low pressure across the area tomorrow and Friday. Measurable rain is likely over the next two days, and some computer models are predicting over half an inch of rain around the lowlands.
The wind will increase by Friday, and gusts over 20 mph are likely around Seattle. Wind at the coast could be much stronger by Thursday night and all day Friday. Gusts could exceed 40 mph at the coast.
The forecast tonight is mostly cloudy skies, and low temperatures will drop down to the 50s and upper 40s. No significant rain is expected tonight.
The forecast for Thursday looks mostly cloudy all day and a high of only 62 degrees. Rain will be moving in from the southwest toward Puget Sound in the afternoon on Thursday. This will bring showers to the coast by noon, and rain showers should continue through Thursday evening into Friday.
Forecast computer models predict over half an inch of rain around Puget Sound with higher amounts on the coast and in the mountains.
The rain showers are forecast to taper off on Saturday and Sunday. There may be a few lingering showers early Saturday morning, but, for the most part, the weekend forecast looks good.
It will still feel a little cool with high temperatures remaining in the mid to lower 60s. The average high for this time of year is 69, and most of the area will average around 62. Not a major cold snap, but still cool.
Looking at the long-range forecast for next week, another weather system will likely bring more rain late Monday into Tuesday.
