Lime offering free rides to ballot boxes through Election Day

In an effort to alleviate transportation issues and increase voter turnout, San Francisco-based company Lime is offering free, sustainable rides now through Election Day, Nov. 8, on its Gen4 e-scooters and e-bikes.
It’s called #LimeToThePolls2022 and it offers two free roundtrip rides of up to 30 minutes to a voting center, post office, or drop box.

“We are proud to do our part to increase voter turnout in Seattle this year and we are excited to offer free rides to pretty much anywhere a voter can drop their ballot from now through Election Day. We know how important it is for residents to have affordable and accessible transportation options to go and return their ballot,” Hayden Harvey, the Senior Management of Government Relations at Lime, said.
Lime to the Polls is a campaign aimed at getting riders registered to vote, educating them on what elections are taking place, providing educational resources, and offering free rides throughout early voting in all eligible U.S. cities, in addition to Election Day.
Use the code LIMETOTHEPOLLS2022 in the Lime app with any e-scooter or bike.
“We’ve spent this year expanding our efforts to break down barriers to access to that transportation to and from ballot drop-off locations or polling places across the country. Lime to the Polls allows us at Lime to help voters get to their polling place on our e-scooters and e-bikes or connect them to public transportation options to make their trips a bit more convenient,” Harvey said. “Lime to the Polls has been hugely successful in the past and we’re excited to double down on it in Seattle this year by including the early voting period.”
