Why not put Costco in charge of TSA security?

Leaving Costco reminds me of Checkpoint Charlie but without the machine guns.
Every time I stand in line to offer proof that yes, I did just purchase these items for cash through that other long line only 30 seconds before, I marvel at the ridiculous feeling of it and that TSA hasn’t just put Costco in charge of security checks yet.
And because standing in that line feels a bit like the equivalent of a mental physical (“Please turn your head and cough”) should we at least get a “Thank you for shopping at Costco!” at the end of it? I find myself thanking them – as though allowing me to exit with my own purchases is a great honor. And yet I keep coming back.
That’s a heck of a business.
