A common sense proposal for Democrats

We get a lot of speeches from politicians. So I thought I would return one in kind to the Democrats. It is based around how our nation should function; a common sense approach to governing our daily business.

Our budget should be balanced. Our public debt should be reduced. And the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled. The assistance we give to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest we become bankrupt. People must again learn to work instead of living on public assistance.

This may sound revolutionary today. But I know that all Democratic politicians know what I’ve said is correct. And history regards what I’ve said as correct as well. My proposal is a simple one for the United States that is based in history; a proposal that was historically ignored.

My proposal comes from the words of Cicero in 55 B.C., in which he warned Rome of their coming demise. I know that the Democrats know what Cicero said is correct because they live that way with their own personal lives. But how can they possibly continue to do the opposite for this country?
