Chicago’s Dream Town Realty has become the nation’s first real estate brokerage to offer a Groupon, paying sellers or buyers $1,000 cash at closing with the purchase of a $25 Groupon.
According to the company’s website, only one Groupon is allowed per household. Sellers must list with Dream Town by April 9, 2012, and buyers must both close the sale and redeem their Groupon by the same date to get $1,000 in cash.
The five-day sale began at midnight on Thursday. By 8 p.m. Friday, 90 Groupons had been sold. Dream Town Realty said it would not limit the number of Groupons it sells before the deadline.
Not all states allow consumer rebates on real estate transactions.
Chicago-based Groupon offers daily online discounted deals on services and goods.
