Chris Hansen moving forward to get NBA back

Arena mastermind Chris Hansen says the chances of getting a deal done with the City of Seattle and King County are not a hundred percent, but they’re a lot higher than this time last week.

“We’d still like to figure out some solutions with the Mariners and some the other stakeholders that are still out there who still have some things they’re concerned about.”

He’s confident Seattle has a better shot at a team than many other cities.

I think if you take the history we have here with basketball in Seattle, the fact that we’re willing to build a new state of the art arena, and the demographics of our market size, we’re at the top of the list for how the NBA would probably prioritize it.”

Any plans to reveal a huge surprise on the Dori Monson Show?

“I can assure you we do not have a deal…like a team ready to move as soon as this thing is finalized,” said Hansen. “It’s absolutely not the case. I will say there are a few opportunities out there and we will do our best if those opportunities become available.”

After the interview, Dori said he’s impressed with Hansen’s tenacity and ability to act on his goals. So much so, that he may even have a small man-crush on Hansen.We’re betting he’s not the only Sonics fan.
