Dori rarely takes a day off, so when he does, it’s for something special.

On Friday, he met Tom Nelson of the “Outdoor Line” on 710 ESPN Seattle at the Everett waterfront to find a Washington state salmon. Only Dori was four minutes late. He misjudged the McDonald’s drive-thru and didn’t arrive to the dock until 5:04 a.m.

Tom was not impressed and asked Dori to re-watch “A River Runs Through It” as a reminder of what happens when you’re late to go fishing.

“I didn’t make you sit out the first half,” Tom pointed out. “You got the first fish and it turned out to be the biggest one of the day, and it turned out to be your dinner on a Saturday night.”

He said there’s nothing more quintessential Northwest than having a salmon dinner with your family and friends.

Dori promised to not even be one second late if he gets another invite on Tom’s boat.

“I just can’t wait to get off the dock every morning!” Tom professed.
