Dori Monson vs. Brock Huard: Who do you think climbs faster?

After taking part in the Scotts Fire Fighter Challenge to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Dori Monson was proud to participate in such a great event and even prouder when he was e-mailed his finish time which beat 710 ESPN Brock Huard’s time by six minutes.

“Here’s the email they sent to me. ‘Congratulations Dori Monson for finishing the Fire Fighter’s Stair climb,” Dori reads. “Finish time 20 minutes 51 seconds.'”

Brock’s email said he completed the climb up 69-floors in Seattle’s Columbia Tower in 26 minutes and 40 seconds. And this was a guy who played in the NFL and is 16 years younger than Dori.

But Brock said he remembered passing Dori so decided to look into those numbers. The stair climb results on the website reveal a different outcome.

In fact, the person who came in with a time of 20 minutes 51 seconds was actually Brock Huard according to the standings listed online. These records show Dori’s time as 26 minutes and 40 seconds.

Dori still argues he has it in writing in his email from the Scotts Fire Fighter Challenge that he was indeed the one with the hot time of 20 minutes 51 seconds.

“So you say you passed me on the stairs,” Dori asked Brock. “Did you fist bump me as you went by me?”

“I think I did,” said Brock.

“Oh you see I didn’t fist bump anybody on the stairs Brock,” said Dori. “I was making that up. Obviously you were lying about that.”
