Anyone who sees ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ will laugh out loud

“Florence Foster Jenkins” is all about one of the worst singers in history and actually turns out to be an amazing story worth my rating of four stars.

Jenkins, who was convinced by her husband and friends that she had an epic voice, is unlistenable. It’s extraordinary.

She was completely tone deaf. Some have said her singing sounds like the cries of a wounded animal.

Florence Foster Jenkins became world famous for her terrible sound. As gifts to her friends, she cut a few records of her singing. People found them hilarious.

Someone gave the records to a radio station and it began being played in regular rotation.

For people not familiar with Jenkins, her story is a touching one. Her husband was a fairly famous and successful Broadway actor. He was younger, she was wealthy. Despite the fact that it was an unconventional marriage — which is why this is PG-13 – he was deeply devoted to her.

The famous line from her is: “People may say I can’t sing, but no one can ever say I didn’t sing.”

The greater point of this movie is to love what you do, and go for it. Don’t be afraid of embarrassment. And that love comes in many shapes and sizes.

The movie is deeply touching in a way you don’t expect. It is hilarious. Anyone watching this film will not be able to escape without laughing out loud.

I would be surprised if Meryl Streep, who plays Jenkins, doesn’t get at least another Oscar nomination, if not another Oscar for this. She does her own singing.

Hugh Grant, also, is going to be a major Oscar contender.

Even if I knew nothing about Jenkins I would still love the movie. I think people will love it. It’s clearly one of the best movies of 2016. Four stars.

It’s the kind of film that people may enjoy so much that they want to see it again.
