A friend is trying to help out the family of murder victim Amber Lynn Coplin. The woman, whose body was found in her Port Orchard apartment Tuesday, is the mother of five boys.
After hearing Coplin was brutally murdered, Kimberly Hubert, the neighbor of the children’s grandmother, stepped up to help the family, financially.
She started an online fundraiser.
“The financial is something that I thought I could help with. The emotional stuff is far beyond my reach. I felt like if I reached beyond the community and I found a way for them to give to the family, that I would get a response,” Hubert told KIRO Radio.
“Her youngest two boys are 8 and 5 and they come over to play in my backyard with my boys and they play with my boy, who’s 6, and to hear what happened to their mother is shocking.”
Hubert said she visited the family the other day after the news of Coplin’s death broke.
“All the boys were inside and together and all playing video games, spending time together, and wrapped up in blankets and cozy. It’s good to see them all leaning on and supporting each other.”
After speaking to the boys’ grandmother, she realized she could lend a helping hand.
“Our goal is $5,000 – to raise enough money to pay for the burial and service of Amber Lynn.”
