Everywhere you go, people have their faces buried in their phones. It drives Dori nuts. “It’s like you see life through a viewfinder or through your cell phone camera instead of just experiencing life,” he says.

He’s not immune to it. Dori admits he shot video of Macklemore at the Seahawks Super Bowl post-game party on his phone rather than “reveling in the moment.”

So a new video that’s going viral has captured his imagination. Writer-director Gary Turk’s “Look Up” is a short, spoken-word film, that urges audience to do just that.

“I have 422 friends, yet I’m lonely,” Turk says. Turk laments the kids who haven’t experienced life without social media.

“We’re a generation of idiots,” he says. “Smartphones and dumb people…When you’re too busy looking down, you don’t see the chances you miss,” he says.

The video has gotten 22,867,972 views since he posted it last month. But the message seems to be he’d rather people didn’t click on it.

“Stop watching this video,” he concludes, “and live life the real way.”
