Mask...

(Todd Herman Show)

(Todd Herman Show)

Thank you, Todd Herman Show listener “Hysteria 51,” for texting us your idea for a King County compliant face-covering.

The King County Council hasn’t cut a single government job, even as Jay Inslee’s shutdown has destroyed their tax base; but, they have signaled some serious virtue.

The council has decreed that subjects of the County are to cover their faces when they leave their homes. This is not directed at first responders or employees in long term care facilities, professionals who wear N95 masks to protect against viral load. The council’s non-enforceable scold isn’t even a call for N95 masks. King County’s face-covering directive tells people to put something, anything, over their faces.

When I am in King County, walking about like some crazy thought criminal without a mask or a ripped t-shirt covering my face, I sincerely hope a brave urbanist approaches me to issue a mask shaming. It is with such anticipation I view this, I have even prepared a little speech for the mask-shamer in waiting. This morning, on my radio show, I rehearsed my response.

I shall quote Dr. Tony “Shutdown now, Shutdown forever” Fauci, who said masks may “stop a ‘droplet’” of the virus, but, really only make people feel better and, in fact, may lead to (negative) unforeseen consequences for the wearer.

Shifting quickly, from a well-known figure in the creation of disastrous over-responses to Public Health issues, I will quote a lesser known medical professional.

Neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock warns that not only do face masks fail to protect the healthy from getting sick, but they also create serious health risks to the wearer. The bottom line is that if you are not sick, you should not wear a face mask.

As for the scientific support for the use of face mask, a recent careful examination of the literature, in which 17 of the best studies were analyzed, concluded that, ‘None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection.’Keep in mind, no studies have been done to demonstrate that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has any effect on transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Any recommendations, therefore, have to be based on studies of influenza virus transmission. And, as you have seen, there is no conclusive evidence of their efficiency in controlling flu virus transmission.’

I will quote the results from Sweden, where their society is on its way to herd immunity, and, has done so never having shutdown their economy, never ordering masks, and without seeing any outlying increases in death rates.

Then, phone in hand, I shall play from my iTunes, “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who, and will display Tweets that mock and destroy the tribalist virtue signaling of mask-wearing.

A label on a box of what many in Seattle have fashioned into their woke-masks. Give careful note to the label. Look close: Do you see the disclosure?

From Washington Emergency Management, taken May 18, 2020: The people responsible for emergency responses on a statewide business, in their control room, literally killing people by not wearing masks. Psychos!

White House correspondent and “journalist,” Kaitlan Collins, who tried to shame President Trump for not wearing a mask. Minutes later, when she thought the cameras were off, Kaitlan ripped the mask from her face and grinned a lovely grin.

A car crash from an N95 wearing driver, who likely passed-out for lack of oxygen

None of this is to say I will not wear a mask. If I do decide to do so, I have two possibilities in mind. One is in the header to this article, sent to us from a listener, Hysteria 51. The other, comes once again, from the world of Twitter and it is stellar.
