Herman: SDOT wins Bob Ferguson’s price-gouging contest

Bob Ferguson wants you to report acts of price gouging. Well, I have found the top price-gouger in Seattle: The Seattle Department of Transportation. You can report this act of price-gouging to Bob Ferguson’s office — just click here.

A listener to my radio show, Mark, has his company’s equipment parked in downtown Seattle, where they had been building a project. Jay Inslee banned commercial construction, but, allowed government projects to continue. Government worker unions are also major donors to Inslee.

As a private company, Mark’s firm would technically be breaking Inslee’s order if they went to pick up their equipment. That being the case, Mark reached out to SDOT to see if they would stop charging him rent for parking his gear.

In short, SDOT told Mark to get bent. How much money is this costing him? How much is SDOT making with this price gouging? Is Mark’s company still paying their employees despite having no income? You can hear about it right here:
