Hoop dreams: Star’s Carnation home remains unsold

Ray Allen, a 10-time all star and the National Basketball Association’s all-time leader in three-point baskets, spent parts of five seasons with the Seattle SuperSonics.

While Allen has been gone more than four years, his five-bedroom, 6.5-bath home in the Blakely Woods neighborhood of Carnation has remained mostly vacant since he was traded in January 2007.

The 10,630 square-foot house on 4.5 acres with sports court, pool with exterior kitchen cabana, putting green, jetted tub and kids’ play structure received no takers at its most recent listed price – $3.7 million, down nearly 50 percent from an asking price of $7 million.

The home features a huge vaulted entry, home theater, private office, gourmet kitchen and master bedroom suite with fireplace.

In 2003, Allen was acquired by the Sonics, along with Ronald Murray, Kevin Ollie, and a conditional first round draft pick, in exchange for Gary Payton and Desmond Mason.

On June 28, 2007, the Sonics traded Allen and Glen Davis and the 35th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft, to the Celtics in exchange for Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, and the fifth overall pick, Jeff Green. A year later, Allen helped lead the Celtics to the 2007-2008 NBA title.
