If you won’t debate and defend your ideas, there may be a weakness in the ideas themselves

I had a cantankerous interaction on Twitter on Tuesday, inspired by a writer who blamed KIRO Radio for something that I said on my show on KTTH.

And what I said was, ludicrously, taken out of proportion. I referred to Denny and Broadway as the busiest intersection on Capitol Hill, when in reality it might be the 3rd or 4th busiest.

It seems our city assumes the absolute worst of anyone who believes a different way than they do. There is a bubble belief that if you have any concern for frivolous projects on our city streets, you are a hateful person. Let alone if you have questions about things like the Sound Transit $54 billion pyramid scheme. If you’re someone who believes in some restraint for government power, you are a hateful person.

I ask the left to come at me with any disagreement with a conversational tone and I guarantee you’ll get a conversational tone and discussion back from me.

But here in Seattle, the left has achieved such a unanimity of view that they are openly, aggressively angry at diverse thought and diversity of ideas. So much so that they won’t even debate the issues. I’m just calling for an honest, rational debate.
