The Left and the morality of the moment

Apr 28, 2016, 4:14 PM

I started studying the left in 1994 when I first started in talk radio. And I am constantly on the lookout for a combination to undo the lock of the left. Because they are beating us on the activism front, the media front and the academic front. They are the party of “cool.”

But I think it’s undeniably cool to take care of “yourself.”

And I think there is a right side and a wrong side of history. But I think the left uses history to replace morality. You can be on the right or wrong side of history, but who determines which side you’re on? The left does. And they are trying to erase actual morality.

And history is tied to this. Everyone agrees that Stalin’s Russia was immoral. But at the time leftists were saying you have to break some eggs to make an omelet. Now they have a revisionist view of Stalin and his horrible regime. They take away the morality that was wrapped around what happened in the Soviet Union.

The left call themselves the “Democratic Party” and say they represent the people. But democracy in the eyes of the left is peripheral to governance. They are the party of executive orders. The party of judicial diktats. The party of bureaucracy. And yet they speak constantly of democracy.

The same party that believes it can determine the right vs. wrong side of history is the same party that doesn’t want the “right” to be able to determine the morality of the moment.
