Listen to this song: ‘Welcome to Ed Murray’s world’

Sep 13, 2016, 2:53 PM

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has a no pet phrase for people raising the taxes on themselves.

During the absolutely outrageous press conference following the tragedy along I-5, where an alleged drunk driver went off the freeway and plowed through a tent encampment. The tents were set up in a greenbelt adjacent to I-5 near NE 50th Street in Seattle.

In the aftermath, Murray let us all know what we have to do in response: Step up.

There are no repeat clips in that montage. How does that happen? Do they hire consultants who say, yeah, “step up.” A tax increase. And if you don’t think it’s a good idea to give incompetent politicians more of your heard-earned money, that’s you refusing to step up.

With that in mind, I got an amazing brand new song from listener Dave Irish — one that all of us in Seattle can relate to.

Yeah, it’s Ed Murray’s world. We’re all just living in it.
