Ann Rule’s true crime novels have flown off bookstore shelves for years but her Seahurst waterfront retreat remains on the market at $999,750 after a $500,000 price reduction.

The two-lot, two-home private parcel on 123 feet of no-bank waterfront is reached by a private tram and features an unobstructed view of the Olympic Mountains, Vashon Island and remarkable sunsets. The main home was extensively remodeled has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, built-in vacuum system, large deck and skylights throughout.

Rule has published more than 20 books and 1,400 articles in four decades of writing. Her first book, The Stranger Beside Me, was about serial killer Ted Bundy, a former co-worker on the suicide hotline at the King County Crisis Clinic.

Many of her works reportedly were composed in the property’s secondary structure, a small cabin a few steps from the main house.

If you can scrape up a sizeable down payment, seller financing is available.
