Rob McKenna vs Chris(tine) Gregoire

An unbelievable bit of political theater is unfolding in Olympia. Attorney General Rob McKenna came on my show Monday and confirmed that Washington will join nine other states in a legal challenge to the feds on the health care bill. McKenna told me that the insurance mandate by the feds “violates the 10th amendment of our Constitution which reserves to the states, and people of the states, any powers not expressly granted to the federal government.”

An angry Governor Gregoire told our news partners at KING-5: “He did not call and consult me. I don’t know who he represents. He does not represent me.”

I find it hilarious that Gregoire is questioning who McKenna represents. She has spit in the face of the people of this state by lying about not increasing taxes in a bad economy. She helped engineer the overturning of the people’s will by throwing out I-960. She is orchestrating a billion dollars in tax hikes necessitated by her out-of-control spending the last five years. And she is showing a complete failure of leadership as the legislature is now more than a week into a special session where they can’t agree on which taxes to jack up – a special session that is costing the taxpayers $15,000/day.

McKenna, on the other hand, is standing up for the United States Constitution and for the will of the people in our state – the majority of whom are opposed to this health care bill. Even in ultra-liberal Western Washington, 55% say either the issue should have been left alone or Congress went too far.

McKenna vs Gregoire? No contest. It’s like the Harlem Globetrotters vs the SayWA Generals.
