Rupert Murdoch’s wife slaps a pie thrower

The drama of Rupert Murdoch speaking to the British Parliament, saying he’s sorry but not responsible for a phone hacking scandal, was heightened when someone tried to throw a pie in his face. Another highlight was Rupert Murdoch’s wife slapping the pie thrower.
I’ve seen so many women stand by their man in a news conference as he’s admitting he’s had an affair. Wendi Deng is another stand-by-her-man women, although in her case she didn’t just stand there.
A committee hearing had been under way for two hours when a comedian known as Jonnie Marbles rushed from the public gallery towards the News Corporation chairman and chief executive. A horrified Mrs Murdoch landed a slap on the assailant, while another aide shoved a notebook into his face to repel him before the single police officer in the room lumbered to their aid.
It’s the slap seen around the world on YouTube, and this video even has a slow-motion version.
