So you know about Seattle’s road diet craze, right? But it’s not just for Seattle any more. It’s heading to the suburbs.

The Seattle Department of Transportation admits that they want to do the opposite of transportation. They want to slow you from entering onto freeways.

SDOT is not a transportation organization. Transportation organization’s look to transport people. Buses and trains don’t replace cars and it is never going to change. Just last weekend, Sound Transit slipped and admitted that when people make a decision about traveling, that less than 1 percent of the population are choosing the choo-choo train.

These road diets have nothing to do with safety for pedestrians or bicyclists; it has everything to do with pushing their choo-choo train and ferry agenda.

What are their priorities if it’s not about moving people?

Their priorities are to slow down traffic and make it harder to commute. Example: they close the roads for things like the Fremont Solstice Parade for naked people.
