So, there’s no virtue signaling going on in Seattle, huh? Is it just Mayor Ed Murray bringing back respect for the rule of law? Or do you think this has something to do with the mayor running for re-election?

I guess nowadays, the mayor of a city can say that they are not going to follow federal law. And Murray has no idea what this is going to cost the tax payer.
Murray is making a big showy, deal about this only because he’s seeking re-election. He could just say he’s not going to follow the law. But the press conference got Murray on TV and brings him national attention.
He also said that he will make sure that the “real laws” will be enforced. So Mayor Murray is going to decide what federal laws Seattle is going to follow and what laws we are not going to follow?
These federal laws are not unreasonable. Does he really believe that by not checking individuals’ immigration status, we will be kept safer? That is what he says, but how can that possibly be the case?
