Seattle ranks No. 7 on nation’s most ‘bikeable’ list

Seattle grabbed the No. 7 spot for the nation’s most “walkable” city and it is only one notch behind for “bikeability.”
Walk Score, based in University Village, recently released Bike Score based on factors like bike lanes, hills, road connectivity, and the percentage of people in an area who bike to work.
Walk Score has identified as the nation’s “top 10 most bikeable cities.” Bike Score generates a rating of 0-100, with cities with scores of 70 or higher considered “very bikeable,” those with scores between 50 and 69 “bikeable,” and those with scores below 50 “somewhat bikeable.”
The company it developed the Bike Score methodology in collaboration with professor Meghan Winters of Simon Fraser University, and professors Michael Brauer and Kay Teschke of the University of British Columbia, under a grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Minneapolis grabbed the top spot with a rating of 79 while Seattle’s No. 7 earned a 64.
