As many people have raised questions about election fraud in the national election, Washington’s Secretary of State Kim Wyman joined Todd Herman Show on KTTH to explain her position.

As Todd understood, it was Wyman’s position that she viewed the president’s request for the courts to look into the election as dangerous because he’s casting doubt upon our election system. Wyman explained that’s not quite right, as she actually supports following the processes that are in place to ensure an election is accurate.

“… Going through legal challenges or the established pathways in an election and calling into question elements of an election, like asking for a recount, those are all normal parts of the process, they’re healthy parts of the process, especially when people feel that there might be some cheating or there might be some sort of fraud, absolutely, that I welcome,” Wyman said. “And that is certainly his right as a candidate.”

“Where I get a little bit nervous is when allegations of just widespread fraud or there was massive cheating, the election is rigged, making those kind of just blanket statements,” she added. “That, I think, starts to undermine democracy and undermines people’s confidence in elections.”
