Shower thoughts: Trump, Mueller, dad jokes and left-handed pencils

It’s time once again for some shower thoughts. Let’s crank up the hot water, turn on the shower tunes, and do this thing.
RELATED: We’re about to pay more for solar power and washing machines
Shower confession: I rarely ever wash my face. Seriously. I just stand face up in the stream of water. But I recently got a bottle of face wash. Do I really need to use this stuff? Seems like my system has worked pretty well so far.
Trump vs Mueller
How interesting would it be to be a fly on the wall as Robert Mueller interviews Donald Trump in his investigation? It’s the one arena where he can’t just say #FakeNews. If we’ve learned anything about Mueller, it’s that he gets his facts straight before questioning someone.
Death penalty
While we’re being serious, the State of Washington revived it’s argument against the death penalty again this week. Intellectually, I can get on board with the argument. But then we hear cases like the US Gymnastics doctor abusing 140 girls, or this demented couple that chained their 12 children to a bed and starved them.
In my mind, there is no punishment too severe for people who prey on children. I would like to at least have the option of the death penalty available when something unusually heinous comes along.
OK, enough serious time.
Dad jokes
Even though I don’t have kids, somehow I’ve started telling mostly dad jokes. How did that happen? Maybe I’ve always told dad jokes and only now I am realizing it.
Trading vs working
Why does making $98 on a trade in the markets feel better than making the same $98 at work?
Speaking of trading, there’s a guy in an apartment in Long Island City, NY that single-handedly shook the cryptocurrency markets to the tune of $100 billion dollars.
He didn’t do anything illegal. He just happens to run the 117th most popular website in the world out of his apartment. He tweaked his private algorithm on the market cap of all the coins. He didn’t tell anyone, and it sent shock waves through the market. The world’s most powerful anonymous man.
Shower thoughts: Speed round
To anyone who’s ever tweaked their back, wish me luck. I’m going to give snowboarding another try after a few year off. And a few hundred visits to the chiropractor.
Why do we call our moon “the moon,” and the other planets get cool names like Titan? Isn’t that like getting a cool dog and then naming it dog?
I saw a left-handed pencil for sale. Is that a thing?
Where am I going to find the time to see all these Oscar nominated movies?
Time to dry off. Shower thoughts are over for the week.
