Shower thoughts: Seattle #fail, 2nd Amendment, and the Seahawks
Mar 28, 2018, 5:00 PM
It’s Wednesday. That means it’s time for some shower thoughts.
Can you believe it’s almost April? Easter is on Sunday. Happy Easter to those that celebrate.
Resolutions
The year is flying by and I’m actually sticking to a resolution. I don’t usually do New Year’s Resolutions, but I tried one this year.
I resolved to not buy any new clothes until my birthday in July. I noticed that I was starting to buy stuff online when I was bored. So far, so good. I did have a two struggles lately. My belt broke, and I’m going to try an fix it instead of going the easy route and just buying a new one. And I did catch myself surfing the web for a Loyola Ramblers hat. Then I stopped myself. Resolution intact.
Seattle City Council #fail
Seattle is a great city. Our city council, however, is not so great in my opinion.
Here is another example of their strange decision making. The opportunity to do something creative with the Battery Street Tunnel. Instead of finding an interesting solution like New York did with the High Line for instance, they chose to just fill it with rubble. It’s lazy and uninspired. So instead of a quirky landmark a stone’s throw from the Puget Sound, we’ll have the a giant tube of rubble. #FAIL.
2nd Amendment
Ninety seven year old John Paul Stevens, Former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, has spent almost eight decades studying Constitutional law just wrote that we should repeal the 2nd Amendment.
I think everyone should at least think about his point of view. He has the bonafides.
Seahawks
Now that the Seahawks have been forced to fire their second back up QB in as many years for off the field misdeeds, shouldn’t the team take a second look at Colin Kaepernick? Is there a more open-minded city in the league than Seattle? Remember, dude has skills. He took a team to the Super Bowl. After losing all the big name players that the Hawks have lost, this seems like a no-brainer to me.
The season
That 75 degree teaser day a few weeks ago has really made me angry now that things reverted back to 54degrees and cloudy. Can we skip the April showers this year and proceed directly to May flowers?
Stevie Ray Vaughn
And finally, I fell down the YouTube rabbit hole of Stevie Ray Vaughn videos last night. I believe that he played guitar as well as anyone has ever done anything in the history of mankind. Think about that for a minute during your shower thoughts.
