Smoking Smarties

Dave saw this YouTube video of the latest teen fad, smoking “Smarties” candy:

Crazy! If the Wall Street Journal is to be believed, this fad is sweeping middle schools across the nation. Any parents out there worried? Just like the old candy cigars, or worse?

(P.S. I always trust the WSJ when it comes to knowing what all the cool kids are into).

***UPDATE: Fox News is all over the smartie-smoking beat, and they include this disturbing warning from Mayo Clinic nose specialist Oren Friedman:

…frequent use could lead to infections or even worse, albeit rare, conditions, such as maggots inside the nose.

Nose-maggots? Gross! Most of you should now be sufficiently frightened into quitting your pack-a-day smarties habit. Problem solved.
