The madness of party loyalty vs. trusting ourselves

I want to see the system torn apart. I want control of elections. I don’t want the party chiefs to have control anymore.

Party heads like Paul Ryan say that he can’t defend Trump’s comments or positions but that the party needs to stay unified. But I don’t care about your party, Paul, because the party stopped carrying about me a long time ago.

I went to work in D.C. for the party years ago. The system is broken and needs to change. The system is set up to give advantage to whoever is in the lead. And the parties just control too much.

My proposal for Washington state is that we should declare independence from the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Washington state should vote the day the first primary is held. No more Republican debates or Democratic debates. Only candidate debates.

In Washington state we will not be beholden to any party structure at all. The words “Republican” or “Democrat” will be stricken from all ballots. We will vote for the candidates that we want, on either side.

No more cherry picking the states that get to make the decisions early on. We want a National Primary Day. We are voters and we count. The voters run things in Washington state. This has got to happen. The country can only come together if we tear the parties apart.
