The moment I became a Conservative

Jun 19, 2016, 10:18 AM

Do you remember the moment you became a Conservative? I was reminded of my moment when I recently heard something Nancy Pelosi said on the floor the other day.

Pelosi is willing to contort herself in any manner of shapes to pretend that she is following some moral path.

This reminds me of going to grade school in Spokane. And what I saw in grade school turned me into a Conservative.

I was called into the principal’s office in 1st grade. The principal said you’ve been coloring on the walls of the school and you’re in trouble. I told him that I hadn’t been doing that.

He said, “Well, Anne-Marie said she saw you doing it. Empty your pockets.”

I said, “I have crayons in my pocket but I was not drawing on the walls.”

And I wasn’t!

But the principal said “these crayons prove it to me. You’re in trouble,” and he left the room.

I thought to myself, you’re wrong, you are abusing your power. And I left. I left school. And I never said another word to the man.

That was an abuse of power. One man determined he was right with no proof and no due process. And there was nothing I could do about it. But I was determined not to give in to an abuse of power.

I see this same trait in people like Nancy Pelosi; the notion that their outcome should be whatever they want it to be because they have the power.  And they view us as children with no way to adjudicate against their findings. But we need to stand up and fight the abuse of power.
