afternoondelite

It’s not every day Seattle’s Morning News anchor Linda Thomas asks for a little afternoon delight…luckily, she means the song.

It’s one of the stinkers singled out by Rolling Stone Magazine in a new readers’ poll of the 10 worst songs of the 70’s.

While the magazines’ previous attempts at finding worst songs of the 90’s and 80’s drew plenty of fire online and off…we seem to be much more in agreement about the decade that brought us ‘Feelings’, ‘Having My Baby,’ and Linda’s ‘Afternoon Delight.’

My question is “what about the 70’s allowed that to happen?” Bill wonders.

Listen to Seattle’s Morning News checks out the worst songs of the 70’s

It’s tough to pick the absolute worst from a crop that also includes ‘Billy, Don’t Be A Hero,’ and ‘You Light Up My Life.’ But it’s also tough to argue with the the #1 worst song: ‘Disco Duck.’

But you have to at least give some props for their educational value. Where else could a pre-internet adolescent learn about ‘Muskrat Love?!’
