Which is worst on Halloween: Smarties or candy corn?
And which is the best candy?
Don’t ask KIRO Radio’s Ron and Don. They can’t agree.
Ron Upshaw lives in Woodinville, which removes any candy-giving responsibility – no kids are traveling far enough to get to his house. But Don O’Neill lives in Seattle, to the chagrin of his co-host who says Don’s taste in candy will likely get his home egged.
Don O’Neill: No kids are going to your house … Just because you’re the grumpy guy living out in Woodinville … how many trick-or-treaters do you have come by?
Ron Upshaw: In the last 10 years, like zero. Because we live out in the middle of nowhere.
DO: You’ve separated yourself away from the rest of us, which we all appreciate. I already went out and bought a mega bag of Smarties; I’ve already eaten the whole bag.
RU: Smarties?! Everybody hates Smarties! Smarties are right below candy corn.
DO: Everyone loves Smarties. Don’t even get me started on Smarties.
RU: You are saying Smarties are better than candy corn?!
DO: The best candy out there is a Heath bar.
RU: I agree and the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, but Smarties? If I came to your door and I was all dressed up, and you gave me Smarties, I’d come back with a dozen eggs.
DO: Where are the Jolly Rancher Fire — the cinnamon ones?
RU: You have the worst taste in candy.
