Are you tired of reading your news? This week’s app of the week will get another human to do it for you.

Umano, which GeekWire host Todd Bishop understands to mean “human” in Italian, has a person read the news for you from different publications.

“It’s real humans,” says Bishop.

App users can browse articles and create a playlist of articles that interest them.

“It’s the kind of thing you can use as an alternative to the radio. Don’t tell the folks here at KIRO,” jokes Bishop.

He says the voices are very distinct and he really likes the selection of stories.

Umano is free for iPhone and Android.

Listen to GeekWire on KIRO Radio Saturdays at 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Available anytime ON DEMAND at KIRORadio.com.
