A small plane made a crash landing on a beach of Hood Canal Tuesday afternoon, but the pilot came out of it OK, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.
A witness reported an engine “bang” before the crash, which occurred near the 5000 block of Northeast North Shore Road, the sheriff’s department said on Twitter.
The pilot told medics at the scene the engine cut out and he made the emergency landing on the beach. He suffered some minor cuts but is otherwise fine, the sheriff’s department said.
