Lacey teacher who tackled shooter to throw first pitch at Mariners game

The Lacey teacher who stopped a student firing a gun on campus will be honored Friday night in front of thousands.
North Thurston High School civics teacher Brady Olson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Mariners game against the Oakland Athletics.

The 16-year-old student shooter is believed to have been trying to commit suicide by cop when Olson saved his life by tackling him, as well as the lives of other students.
Olson said he bear-hugged the teen and took him down just seconds before a school resource officer could get off a clear shot.
