Bear stops at Eastgate Elementary to hang out on playground

May 21, 2015, 9:26 AM | Updated: 9:38 am

Bellevue police report that a bear entered onto the playground at Eastgate Elementary School Thursday morning.

The bear briefly entered onto the playground but returned to a greenbelt adjacent to the school.

Students were kept indoors during the sighting.

The bear was soon seen taking a stroll nearby going eastbound on SE 43rd Place.

Local police are keeping an eye out for the bear in case it comes in contact with people or gets trapped, but it will mostly likely return to the area’s greenbelts and move along, according to the Bellevue Police Department.
