Jon Grant, an affordable housing activist, Tammy Morales, a food justice advocate, and Michael Maddux, a parks advocate and Democratic politico each ran strong races, but came up a little short. They talk about how they had to adjust to the challenges of getting votes without much money while being told they had no chance.
Mike also tosses in a few observations, reflecting on his own experiences in 2009 as a first-time candidate.
