A Puyallup Tribal Police vehicle was damaged in some kind of crash related to the event.
Tribal police released one statement following the shooting:
There was an officer-involved shooting by Puyallup Tribal Police which resulted in a fatality. The Puyallup Tribal Police called in an independent, outside agency – the FBI – which is the protocol for dealing with an incident of this nature on federal trust property. An officer has been put on paid-administrative leave which is standard operating procedure. We will refer all further media queries to the FBI.
Seattle FBI spokeswoman Ayn S. Dietrich-Williams told KIRO 7 that the FBi will “investigate an incident on tribal land that involved police response early this morning. I will work with my colleagues to gather information and share details with you.”
