A large, two-alarm fire burned through a commercial building in Seattle’s International District early Thursday morning.
The fire reportedly started around 4:30 a.m. at 815 South Weller Street. Shortly after 6:30 a.m., the Seattle Fire Department said that the fire had been brought under control. KIRO 7’s Ranji Sinha reports that “several sections of roof” had collapsed.
Seattle Fire had Washington State Patrol close the Dearborn off-ramp to keep the area clear, while First Hill Streetcar service was halted. Residents in the area were told to close their windows and doors to avoid exposure to smoke.
An SFD spokesperson also told Sinha that this is the latest in a “string of fires” set in the area in the last two days.
There were no reported injuries.
