Mayor Murray’s new ‘director of homelessness’ will direct the homeless to Seattle

Mayor Ed Murray: Job creator. He’s created a new position — the Director of Homelessness — and it pays up to $160,000 a year!

It’s a perfect name because the city is going to “direct” homelessness into Seattle. If you want more of something, subsidize it. We are subsidizing the behaviors that lead to homelessness.

These are the same activists who suggested we set up areas of our cities where people can drink booze and shoot up. We’ll even make sure there are nurses there for them.

Dealing with an elected, representative form of government, who should take responsibility for all this? Perhaps it should be Murray. But instead, he’s hiring someone to either take the fall or make it all OK.

We are subsidizing the behaviors that lead to homelessness and then we’re subsidizing the homelessness itself.
