Mechanical issues kept State Route 104 Hood Canal Bridge closed for hours Sunday in both directions to vehicle and marine traffic.
The bridge reopened to traffic by around 3 p.m.
During an 8 a.m. marine opening Sunday, the bridge experienced a mechanical malfunction on the west half of the bridge. Washington State Department of Transportation bridge crews had to manually close the bridge. For a while, WSDOT had no ETA for reopening the bridge.
