Boathouse in Mercer Island catches fire, burns down

Fire department crews are investigating after a massive boathouse fire on Mercer Island Monday afternoon.

Eastside Fire and Rescue said that the blaze spread from the boat house to the boat inside, another vessel, and the dock near the 9000 block of North Mercer Way, close to Interstate 90.

Pictures taken at the scene show the structure completely leveled after the fire was extinguished.

Bellevue Fire Department said they would investigate the fire to determine a cause.

No injuries have been reported at the time of reporting.
