Voter’s guide: Todd Herman’s guide to 2016 ballot

It’s that time of year — voting season. And with it many with their own voter’s guide.

I’ve been getting tons of emails and tweets from listeners asking me to post which way they should vote on some of the Washington state Initiatives and races. So why not a Todd Herman voter’s guide.

So here you go — my personal, handy voter’s guide.

Initiative 1433: – Minimum Wage – NO! Colfax is not Seattle and $15 per hour in towns like Colfax will not just kill jobs, but businesses. Vote no!

Initiative 1464: Forced Political Speech – NO! – It’s Un-American to force you to buy political ads and it is also 100 percent about empowering the left. It will do nothing to end money in politics, which will only be done by reducing government power, whereas this increases it. Vote no!

Initiative 1491: Court-issued extreme risk protection – NO! – The Burlington Mall shooter was ordered by a judge to not have a gun. He got one anyway and committed murders. Felons are not supposed to have guns, but they get their hands on them. The only way to keep dangerous people away from guns is to keep them out of society. This initiative does none of that. Vote no!

Initiative 1501: Seniors and Vulnerable People – NO! – This is the biggest piece of hogwash on the entire ballot. What this actually does is prevent groups like The Freedom Foundation from contacting people who have been told by union thugs that they must join a union to tell them the truth. They don’t have to join. That is what this initiative does. Vote no!

Initiative 732: Carbon Tax – Vote No! – Do I really need to explain this? OK  New technology can turn carbon into ethanol in one single step. Also, global warming/cooling/climate change alarmists continue to fake data and people like Al Gore, Obama and DiCaprio continue having massive carbon footprints. If they really thought the Earth was in the balance, wouldn’t they change their own lifestyles? Vote no!

Initiative 735: Constitutional Amendment – NO! – This initiative makes it illegal for certain groups of people to pool their moneys to engage in political ads and activism. It decides that unions can do it, the DNC can do it, the Communist Party can do it but corporations cannot. It is Un-American. Vote No!

SJR 8210: Senate Joint Resolution – This will make it easier for both sides in our divided country to plan elections.  Vote yes!

Senator: Chris Vance. He is a moderate Republican, an honest man and a complete fiscal hawk. Chris is hyper focused on fixing our debt and deficit. His opponent, Patty Murray? She loves spending tax money.

Governor: Bill Bryant. This man is focused on making government do it’s actual job: traffic that flows, prisons that work, schools that perform and government agencies that have to ask — every budget cycle — for any budget increase.

Lt. Governor: Marty McClendon. Honest, conservative, thoughtful, energetic. Democratic opponent Cyrus Habib is always game for a talk or debate, but he is a hardcore leftist.

Secretary of State: Kim Wyman. Kim is a very thoughtful woman who is focused on clean elections and willing to fight the feds and their continuing efforts to make it impossible to clean up the voting rolls. Tina, her opponent, may well be insane. I am not kidding.

State Treasurer: Michael Wait. Michael is a big-time finance professional who will get our state fiscally performing the way that top companies do. He knows how to reduce costs for financial services, which will allow us to keep promises to pensioners, and how we can make more money on our portfolios. He is unafraid to use data to argue for smart cuts to government, even in government jobs. His opponent, whom I like, is endorsed by the SEIU and State Employee’s Union, the two biggest buyers of your money in the state. Vote Waite!

State Auditor: Mark Miloscia. Miloscoa is a leader who understands that the power of the job lies in the ability to find and spotlight waste, fraud and abuse in the system. His opponent thinks the power of the job is to hide the same for his party.

Attorney General: Joshua Trumbul. Vote for Joshua because Bob Ferguson is a liberal hack who let Sound Transit break the law, which he admitted, by saying they made a mistake. Bob also thinks he knows exactly how many rounds you need in your firearm’s magazines.

Commissioner of Public Lands: Steve McLaughlin. Steve is a Navy vet and outdoors man who loves our public lands, respects our environment, but also knows we cannot continue to allow forests to be overgrown and that we are derelict to not wisely use our resources in a way that balances environmental care with economic realities.

Supreme Court voter’s guide

Vote for: David DeWolf, Greg Zempel, and Dave Larson.

All the other supreme court candidates on the ballot are part of the most liberal, activist, corrupt court in the western United States.
