Rantz: Don’t support this Seattle extremist group

This morning, my colleague wrote a news story on a local Jewish organization’s work to stand up against Islamaphobia. But before you laud the local chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, you should probably understand what this hateful organization is really about.
Yes, hateful. As a Jew, I’m disgusted with this anti-Semitic organization. Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) is an anti-Israel extremist organization that uses their Jewish heritage as cover. Indeed, they’re filled with self-loathing Jews, which is why they’re hated by mainstream Jewish organizations and activists.
JVP’s aim is to weaken the State of Israel, portray Jews in a negative light, and rally Americans in support against pro-Israel policies.
They’re active supporters of the “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” movement. They’ve supported and sponsored protests comparing Israel to Nazi Germany. They even partner with organizations that deny Israel’s right to exist.
According to NGO Monitor, they received a chunk of their funding “… from the Violet Jabara Charitable Trust (an Arab-American foundation that also supports Electronic Intifada), the Firedoll Foundation, and the Wallace Global Fund, which all contribute to numerous other anti-Israel groups.”
They’re not so much fighting against Islamophobia; their aim is to portray it as a growing problem so that they may demonize Americans and push their pro-Palestine agenda. They’re a fringe group that other fringe group’s use so that they may say they have Jewish support for what is simply virulently anti-Jewish and anti-Israel beliefs.
